Yanet Souto Fernández

  • Degree in Law from the Law School of the University of Havana, Summa Cum Laude, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education on July 10, 1993.
  • Master in Commercial and Financial Law from the Spanish University of Barcelona, ​​2002.
  • Master in Corporate Law from the Spanish University of Barcelona, ​​2003.
  • Master in Private Law from the University of Valencia, with research sufficiency in the 2003 doctorate course.

Doctor in Legal Sciences, title issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Havana, 2007. She obtained the Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Social Sciences, 2009.

She has worked in the Firm since 1999. She has advised foreign commercial companies to conclude international contracts with Cuban importing entities and negotiations concerning foreign investment’s different modalities. Advises and represents foreign mercantile companies in the protection of their intangible assets in Cuban territory. She has represented other foreign commercial companies in international litigation in arbitration proceedings and ordinary jurisdiction. She received the ONBC Award for Excellence in 2011 and the Robe of Honor in 2020. She is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Havana.

She is a mediator of the Cuban Court of International Commercial Arbitration and Head Delegate of Cuba in the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana and the Tribunal of Scientific Degrees.

She has participated in numerous national and international events, postgraduate courses, a member of the Scientific Council of the Revista Cubana de Derecho, and a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista de la Abogacía. He has published numerous works on commercial and industrial property matters.
